Early T.V.:  A Collaboration

Many of us undoubtedly will flip on the television set over the course of the day, but few actually stop to think of the complex origins of this now common form of communication.  Sixty years ago, television barely existed.  It was a small part of the Research and Development program paid for by the United States as an instrument of war.  While the technology had existed in the forties, the possibilities that it held were yet to be explored or for that matter, exploited for profit.  Like radio, it would have to be worked and molded into a feasible idea.
